NSW   #144692C   QLD   #23678After completing his Apprenticeship as a 1st Class Sheetmetal Worker at the age of 19, Barry sought and obtained an apprenticeship as a Carpenter/Joiner with an award winning Brisbane builder where he learnt the fine art of quality workmanship associated with high end architectural residential construction. From the outset of his apprenticeship he proved his passion to work with wood excelled him quickly to building and managing homes as a Project Manager in the 3rd year of his apprenticeship where he built and supervised all aspects of a variety of homes on the Sunshine Coast.
A straight "Honours" student at college as well as being named "Apprentice Carpenter/Joiner" of the year, Barry was nominated and has accepted several awards, which included a "Lions Club Bursary" for continual excellence within the building industry post apprenticeship and nominated a finalist for the Barclay Mowlem - WW Cunningham scholarship. These awards are in recognition of the high standards of quality finishes achieved in construction, which are a direct result of the standards which are set by Barry.
In 1989 several years after completing his apprenticeship, Barry opted to commence his own building business incorporating an owner/builder advisory service the first of its kind.
During the time Barry has operated his business, he has constructed and renovated a variety or residential homes. He is well known and respected for his professionalism and exceptional craftsmanship among his peers and fellow tradespeople and his reputation as a Builder of quality homes is unsurpassed and well recognised on the Sunshine Coast, Brisbane and the Tweed Coast. Barry has taken on many apprentices over the years and these men have proceeded to continue to further their careers by starting their own businesses.
Barry has been involved in building architectural homes designed by Cottee Parker, Jamhouse, Stephen Kidd, Gabriel Poole, Lindsay Claire and Mikelsen Architects. He has been commissioned by numerous clients to take their aspirations and turn them into reality, whilst building lasting trusting relationships.
His training in building was of a bygone era and has enabled him to take on works that others have perceived too difficult to undertake. His portfolio includes many homes varying from slab on ground to demanding sloping sites and individual architectural designs requiring a thorough understanding of good building practices.
